AUGUSTINE HEIGHTS

Located in the Ipswich local government area, Augustine Heights is a former Stockland development and is part of the Greater Springfield area. The suburb has a mix of single unit dwellings, townhouses and vacant land available and is a very popular area with families. The most popular architectural style is brick and tile houses in modern rendered styles.

BELLBIRD PARK

Suburbs along the eastern fringe of Ipswich, such as Bellbird Park, are tipped to boom from increased population as well as government investment. Bellbird Park is home to a mix of lifestyle acreage and smaller residential areas. The suburb is encircled by bushland areas, parks and plenty of green open spaces.

Bellbird Park is popular with commuters given its proximity to the Ipswich Motorway and the Goodna train station. The suburb is home to two shopping precincts and a primary and secondary school. The entire area, including nearby Collingwood Park and Redbank Plains, is home to a large number of parks, and coupled with its affordable prices, is becoming increasingly attractive to young families, first home buyers and investors. CAMIRA

Located next to the massive Springfield development, Camira is an attractive option for investors, renters as well as first home buyers. Camira has older acreage, lots of more than four and a half acres, and new developments with lots of 700sqm. There is extensive bushland in the suburb's western region with the east having been already developed.

The nearby Springfield development has a plethora of recreational activities available with Camira itself also offering a recreational park set up for a variety of sports as well as a large park with barbecue and picnic facilities, and playground.

There are ample employment opportunities in the area with Springfield planning to provide jobs for one in three residents. Springfield's Gateway CBD has opportunities in retail, administration and education with Camira also offering work at its Synergy Industrial Park. COLLINGWOOD PARK

Suburbs along the eastern fringe of Ipswich, such as Collingwood Park, are tipped to boom from increased population as well as government investment in coming years.

Collingwood Park was first developed about 30 years ago. The suburb is characterised by extensive wide open spaces with new estates now being established. Many of the estates have been developed with families in mind. The entire area, including nearby Bellbird Park and Redbank Plains, is home to a large number of parks, and coupled with its affordable prices, is becoming increasingly attractive to young families, first home buyers and investors. FOREST LAKE

Forest Lake is a 1000 hectare residential master planned community which was initially founded in 1990 by Delfin Lend Lease. The suburb, in Brisbane's south-west district, is approximately 22km from the Brisbane CBD and contains many excellent facilities.

The highlight is the artificial lake that serves as the centrepiece of the community. The lake is good for water sports enthusiasts keen to go canoeing, rowing or sailing. The area also boasts numerous parks, playgrounds and hike and bike trails.

The housing options in the suburb are mostly brick-and-tile homes on blocks ranging in size from 253 square metres up to 900 square metres. The suburb has been particularly popular with families, due to the extensive range of learning facilities on offer in the community including child-care centres, private and state primary and secondary schools, as well as special education and adult learning.

The extension and upgrading of the Centenary Highway has made commuting to and from the Brisbane CBD much easier for residents. GAILES

Gailes is located in the northeastern parts of Ipswich and is one of the shire's closest suburbs to Brisbane and Logan, making it an attractive option for commuters.

As it does in other suburbs of Ipswich, the Brisbane River runs through Gailes and coupled with the area's abundance of Queenslanders has made the suburb increasingly desirable. There a number of 1920s-era Queenslanders to be found in Gailes - many ripe for renovation and on large blocks. Affordable brick and tile homes are also available.

Future residential development is a certainty in the area after the Southeast Queensland regional plan identified the shire as a growth spot going forward. There are a number of parks available in the area with nearby Goodna also providing a boat ramp for the Brisbane River Canoe Trail.

The massive nearby Redbank Plaza is the place where most Gailes' residents head to do their weekly grocery shopping. There is a large number of primary and secondary schools in the area. GOODNA

Goodna is located in the northeastern parts of Ipswich and is one of the shire's closest suburbs to Brisbane and Logan. The Ipswich Motorway and the railway line run through the suburb, making it an attractive option for commuters.

There is a variety of housing available in the area, including Queenslanders, modern brick and tile homes, units and townhouses. Some waterfront property is also available on the banks of the Brisbane River. Goodna is part of the Brisbane River Canoe Trail and a number of parks are located in the suburb.

Primary and secondary school options in the surrounding area, make it a popular choice for young families. The St Ives Shopping Centre in Goodna and nearby Redbank Plaza also provide plenty of retail options for local residents.

Future residential development is a certainty in the Goodna area after the Southeast Queensland regional plan identified the Ipswich shire as a population growth spot going forward. The increasing development in the area has resulted in upgraded amenities and infrastructure.

IPSWICH CITY

The commercial and retail heart of the shire, Ipswich is also home to a diverse mix of residential properties. There are some inner-city houses and units smack-bang in the middle of the action, or newer homes, such as colonials, available in housing estates. There are also heritage-listed properties in the exclusive Denmark Hill, many with fabulous views.

Free settlement of the area commenced in the 1840s, and reminders of this strong heritage can be seen throughout Ipswich, with many fine examples of classic Queensland architecture. In fact there are more than 1800 heritage-listed locations and buildings across the shire.

The shire as a whole is the subject of intense interest in recent times as the State Government has allocated large parts of the city to future urban development including improved transport infrastructure.

Originally industries such as mining and railways were the main drivers of growth in Ipswich. However, large employers in Ipswich today include the RAAF Base at Amberley (Australia's largest operational RAAF facility), the inner-city shopping precinct and a large number of private companies and government bodies.

REDBANK

Redbank is located in the northeastern parts of Ipswich and is one of the shire's closest suburbs to Brisbane and Logan, making it an attractive option for commuters. The residential enclave of Redbank was one of the first suburbs to be established in Ipswich and over recent times has experienced strong growth.

The suburb has a long industrial history. Future residential development is a certainty in the surrounding area after the Southeast Queensland regional plan identified Ipswich shire as a population growth spot going forward.

There are a number of parks available in the surrounding area with a boat ramp for Brisbane River Canoe Trail located in nearby Goodna. The massive nearby Redbank Plaza is the place where most residents head to do their weekly grocery shopping.

REDBANK PLAINS

Surrounded by bushland and farms, Redbank Plains is a large suburb that may have a semi-rural location but actually has all the modern facilities a family requires.

The suburb is conveniently located near the Redbank Plaza, Ipswich CBD, and train stations. The entire area, including nearby Collingwood Park and Bellbird Park, is home to a large number of parks, and coupled with its affordable prices, the suburb is becoming increasingly attractive to young families, first home buyers and investors. RIVERVIEW

Riverview is no longer "just" an old Housing Commission suburb with widespread renovations and refurbishments undertaken as part of a community renewal plan having ensured the suburb is much changed from its days of old. These days the suburb is just biding its time until everyone catches on to its charms.Homes are available on different block sizes with many ripe for renovation. There is still ample land available in Riverview for future residential development.

The Bremer and Brisbane rivers can be found in nearby Dinmore with a boat ramp available at Moggill. There are a number of shopping centres in the surrounding areas. The Ipswich suburb of Springfield is part of Australia's largest master-planned community, encompassing an area of 7,200 acres and with a current population of more than 7,000. The Greater Springfield Region incorporates Springfield Lakes Residential (being developed by Delfin Lend Lease), the Brookwater Golf Course and Residential Community, the Gateway CBD (being developed by Springfield Land Corporation) and the original Springfield residential areas. It is anticipated that 800,000 people will eventually call the region home.

While older sections of Ipswich sport many fine examples of classic Queenslanders and post-war cottages, Springfield offers land blocks with new homes for a price that is affordable compared to nearby Brisbane. As such, in recent years, Springfield and nearby Springfield Lakes, have attracted numerous residents out of Brisbane, particularly first home buyers, young couples and those looking for a quieter lifestyle.A wide range of clubs and facilities are now in place in the greater Springfield area, with more planned including the new Waterworx Aquatic Centre and new world class Golfing Range in Brookwater.
